Milford is one of the three community hospitals in the Guildford and Waverley area working in partnership with the Royal Surrey County Hospital and a consortium of GP practices in the area. The projected 35 in patient beds are primarily, but not exclusively, for elderly rehabilitation. Alongside the in patient unit is the Day Assessment and Treatment Centre and the Frailty Hub. Milford is also home to the many outreach and therapist teams who work in the community to avoid hospital admissions. The League of Friends provides patients and staff with facilities and services that the NHS does not provide and raises public awareness of the hospital.
In recent years we have provided a range of amenities from wobble boards for the better balance clinic and garden furniture to the provision of Wi-Fi and the installation of a projector and software that throws images onto a table below with which patients can interact, developing social and motor skills.
